Overview
Given the steadily increasing volume of information
available worldwide leads to a need of possibilities for
discovering, integrating, and processing the heterogeneous
data bases. The goal of the information fusion is thereby
the extraction of information of a new, higher
quality. Therefore mechanisms are required for efficient
access to heterogeneous sources as well as technologies for
various fusion and analysis tasks. It is the vision of the
project to develop a workbench as an implementation of
efficient information systems with application oriented
fusion technologies. Starting with selected application
profiles a library of methods for the analysis of data and
documents, criteria for the application of these methods,
techniques of user interaction with the fusion process and
therein gained information spaces, as well as elements of
the infrastructure of efficient information systems is to be
developed.
